Free Math Worksheets for Parents & Teachers

We have reviewed several dozen websites offering free math worksheets for use at home and in the classroom. Unfortunately, many such sites bombard visitors with banner ads and video commercials, while others are so hard to navigate their resources almost impossible to find. The sites that follow rank well in terms of ease of use and accessibility, and offer a variety of highly usable math worksheets for students in most primary grades.

Math Worksheets for Grades 1-4 – MathFactCafe.com

MathFactCafe.com offers a plethora a pre-made and design-your-own math worksheets for Grades 1 through 4, covering addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. A multitude of options are available when designing your worksheets, but the selection process is simple to use and not at all intimidating. Scores of different Time and Money worksheets can also be designed using the simple tools. The custom-generated page appears almost instantly in your browser, ready for printing. Online Flashcard exercises are also available, but these appear less flexible when compared to the worksheets. Most pages on the site display small ads for books by Amazon, but most go almost unnoticed and are rarely a distraction.

Pre-made Acrobat Math Worksheets for Grades 1-6 – TSLBooks.com

At TSLBooks.com parents and teachers will find almost 200 free math worksheets (with answer keys) for Preschool, Kindergarten and Grades 1 through 6. The pages of math worksheets are distributed over 8 pages, with emphasis on addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions and percentages. A few worksheets address basic geometry and use of tables. Most math exercises are untimed, but the site also has a page of timed worksheets. The Adobe Acrobat math worksheets are free for download, and require Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print. Click to download Adobe Acrobat Reader. The site requests a small donation of $1 to support their ongoing efforts to promote math education at home.

On pages sprinkled with mildly annoying banner ads, SoftSchools.com offers an abundance of of custom-generated worksheets covering a wide range of math topics, spanning levels Preschool through Middle School. Worksheets covering Arithmetic, Roman Numerals, Temperature Conversion, Fractions, Money Conversion, Calendars and many more are available for instant design. The easy to use worksheet tool instantly creates pages that can be printed from the browser, and some worksheets can also be saved as Adobe Acrobat files. The site also features games, quizzes and activities for subjects other than math.

Hundreds of Pre-made Acrobat Math Worksheets – SuperTeacherWorksheets.com

SuperTeacherWorksheets.com has the widest selection of all websites offering pre-made math worksheets, all of which are offered as Acrobat files. Clicking on the link in the title above will take you to the contents page, which features over 60 different math topics. Clicking on a topic will then display a page listing the sub-topics and worksheets under that topic. Some sub-topics have 10 to 20 math worksheets, but there’s no indication of quantity before you choose the main topic. Although the website menu purports to offer a full index it does not. You'll find yourself clicking on a lot of links and your browser’s “BACK” button as you explore the hundreds of pre-made math worksheets. The site also sells downloadable eBooks for teachers, parents and home schools, and most pages have a small listing of sponsored links by Google.
